Security & Data Handling
Stub page. Full security/data-handling documentation is being prepared. The summary below describes how OldSchool currently handles data.
What we collect
- Search: queries are routed through SearXNG without persistent logs of who searched what. We do not retain a search history attached to your account.
- Account: email + hashed password (Argon2/bcrypt). Used for login, payment receipts (when paid tiers launch), and account recovery.
- Tool usage: aggregate counts to enforce free-tier daily limits; no per-query content retention.
What we do not collect
- No third-party advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or fingerprinting scripts.
- No browsing data outside our own tools.
- No biometric, location, or device-graph data.
Where it lives
OldSchool runs on a single VPS in the EU. The static site is served by nginx; account and tool data live in a containerised Postgres instance on the same host. Backups are encrypted and rotated.
